Ductility enhancement of a heat-treatable magnesium alloy

A high strength magnesium alloy is subjected to equal channel angular extrusion imparting a strong shear texture. After annealing, the ductility epsilon(f) similar to 26% is improved by a factor of two in comparison to conventional processing methods.
