A new method is proposed for the generation of intense molecular beams, which is based on the use of low-pressure inductively coupled plasma. A test beam of YbF radicals obtained using the proposed method was extracted with an output intensity of 1 x 10(18) molecule/(sr s). The beam characteristics were measured using an emission spectrometer and a monopole mass analyzer.
