Hexaaquamagnesium(II) bis(5-carboxy-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylate) dihydrate

In the title complex, [Mg(H2O)(6)](C5H3N2O4)(2)center dot 2H(2)O, the asymmetric unit comprises one [Mg(H2O)(6)](2+) divalent cation, two 5-carboxy-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylate monoanions and two uncoordinated water molecules. The Mg-II atom is coordinated by six water molecules in an octahedral configuration. A three-dimensional supramolecular architecture is formed via hydrogen-bond interactions.
