Synthesis and characterization of two potential energetic azido esters

Two new energetic azido esters named 1,3-bis(azidoacetoxy)-2-azidoacetoxymethyl-2-ethylpropane (I) and 1,3-bis(azidoacetoxy)-2,2-bis(azidomethyl)propane (II), have been synthesized an characterized by IR, NMR and Elemental Analysis. Thermal studies revealed that azido esters I and II are stable up to 180 degrees C and their glass transition temperatures are -47 degrees C and -52 degrees C, respectively.
