A model for the humidity dependence of the microwave complex permittivity of saline soils

Microwave dielectric properties of saline sandy-clayey soils are considered. The refractive indexes and absorption factors of soils with different types of salinization are interpolated as functions of the volume humidity. A parametric model of the complex permittivity of a saline soil is developed with allowance for the adsorption properties of the soil and changes in the dielectric parameters of the soil water interacting with soluble salts. An algorithm for remote determination of volume humidity of saline soils containing Na2CO3 and NaCl is proposed.
