First definitive stegosaur from the Middle Jurassic of Kyrgyzstan

Four articulated posterior dorsal vertebrae from the Middle Jurassic (Callovian) Balabansai Svita at Sarykamyshsai locality in the northern Fergana Valley represent the first record of Stegosauria in Kyrgyzstan. The vertebrae cannot be attributed to any known stegosaurian genus. This is one of the oldest records for the Stegosauria.
