In this communication, we demonstrate our recent findings that carboxyl functionalized mesoporous polymer (CFMP) obtained by solvothermal polymerization of divinylbenzene and methacrylic acid possesses intrinsic peroxidase-like activity and can catalyze the oxidation of peroxidase substrate 3,3,5,5,-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) by H2O2 to develop a blue color in aqueous solution, providing a simple approach to colorimetric detection of H2O2 with a linear detection range from 1 mu M to 8 mu M (r - 0.997) and a detection limit of 0.4 mu M.
