Composition and antibacterial activity of the essential oil of ziziphora hispanica (L.) from Algeria

The composition of the essential oil isolated by hydrodistillation from the aerial parts of Ziziphora hispanica. (L)., g-rowing wild in Algeria (province of Tlemcen) was determined by GC(RI), GC-MS and C-13 NMR. The oil was characterized by a high content of pulegone (79.5%) and its antibacterial activity was tested against nine bacteria stains.
