La-In-based oxysulfide is demonstrated to act as a photocatalyst for the reduction of H+ to H-2 and the oxidation of H2O to O-2 in the presence of sacrificial reagents under visible light (420 < A < 480 nm). Loading with IrO2 is effective for promoting O-2 evolution, while Pt is effective as a cocatalyst for H-2 evolution.
