Efficient synthesis of highly functionalized thiazolidine-4-ones under solvent-free conditions

4-Phenylthiosemicarbazide reacts smoothly with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate in the presence of aldehydes or ketones under solvent free conditions to produce highly functionalized thiazolidine-4-ones.
