Six cement pastes were prepared with two strength grades of cement and three water-cement ratios for electrical resistivity and compressive strength tests. The results from electrical resistivity measurement show that electrical resistivity values at 1 day and water-cement ratios follow a power function which is comparable with the relationship between compressive strength and water-cement ratio. A linear relation was established between the compressive strength at 2 days and the resistivity at 1 day, and a logarithmic relation was established between the compressive strength at 7 days or 28 days and the resistivity at 1 day. The quantitative relationships offer an alternative and non-destructive method to predict the compressive strength of pastes.
