In the title compound, C(15)H(12)N(4)S, the benzimidazole ring is essentially planar, with a mean deviation of 0.0082 (1) angstrom from the least-squares plane defined by the nine constituent atoms. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of C-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bonds occur.
