It is common knowledge in today's globalizing world that the success of health information systems, one of the most primary branches of information technologies, relies on user satisfaction. In the present study within the context of Turkey, a new user satisfaction approach was developed that can be practiced and executed all over the world. While applying Aggelidis and Chatzouglou's EUCS approaches to the previous health information systems (HISs), the effects of the contemporary technologies were examined. To this end, the essential model was advanced by an addition of a new factor referred to as the technology compatibility. Results of a survey of 543 employees of medical faculty hospitals supported six of the seven hypotheses included in the model. In the proposed model, information quality, system quality, support resources, and technologies' compatibility were supported as variables that affect user satisfaction. Therefore, the adaptation of such changes and advancements to information systems would improve total user satisfaction with health information systems and with general information systems as well.
