We demonstrate numerical finite element simulation of thermorefractive noise in whispering gallery mode cavities and compare the results with known experimental data and analytical derivations. We show that thermal interaction of the microcavity with environment is very significant, making particular geometry significant for the noise spectral density at low frequencies.
