Two monosubstituted diiron complexes, namely (mu-SCH2CH2CH2S-mu)Fe-2(CO)(5)L (L = P(2-C4H3O)(3), 2; Ph2PCH2CH2CH3, 3), have been prepared by the carbonyl substitution of the parent complex (mu-SCH2CH2CH2S-mu)Fe-2(CO)(6) (1) with the corresponding monophosphine ligands in the presence of Me(3)NO2H(2)O. The new complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
