Novel NaBi(MoO4)(2) nanorods were synthesized facilely by a one-step solvothermal method. The results showed the NaBi(MoO4)(2) nanorods were composed of nanoparticles in linear arrangement. The mean crystal size of the NaBi(MoO4)(2) nanoparticles was of 18.8 nm. The sensor based on NaBi(MoO4)(2) nanorods exhibited good gas-sensing properties towards alcohols especially n-butanol. The highest sensitivity to 100 ppm n-butanol was 30 at the optimal operating temperature of 370 degrees C without cross response to acetone, xylene and toluene. The sensor is a promising candidate for fast, sensitive and selective detection of n-butanol. (c) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
