Advances of Research on Germplasm Resources of Chinese Jujube

Chinese jujube belongs to the genus Ziziphus Mill., family Rhamnaceae. It is one of the 5 oldest cultivated fruit species in China with cultivation and utilization history over 7000 years. China has very rich germplasm resources of Chinese jujube. This paper summarized the main advances of researches on the germplasm resources of Chinese jujube including the investigation and recording in ancient time, modern comprehensive survey, deep survey of variants within old cultivar, ex situ conservation, in situ preservation of old tree, evaluation and innovation. The future prospects were also put forward.
