Study on the effect of carbon nanotubes on plastic composite reinforced with natural fiber

The present study investigates the effect of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on the mechanical and water absorption properties of bamboo reinforced epoxy composites. CNTs were modified with plasma treatment. The mechanical (tensile, flexural and impact) and water resistance properties of the composite was improved after incorporation of CNTs. A major improvement of 84.5 % in impact strength was observed.
