Electromagnetic Reactions and Few-Nucleon Dynamics

We present an update on recent theoretical studies of electromagnetic reactions obtained by using the Lorentz integral transform method. The He-4 nucleus will be the main focus of this report: results for the photo-disintegration and the electro-disintegration processes will be shown, as well as a recent calculation of polarizability effects in muonic atoms. We also discuss the exciting possibility to investigate inelastic reactions for medium-mass nuclei in coupled-cluster theory, highlighted by the recent application to the O-16 photo-nuclear cross section.
