By co-precipitation with metal ions and organic ligands in water droplets of reverse micelles, the enzyme horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was encapsulated in metal-organic framework (MOF) nanocrystals. The HRP embedded in MOF with an average size around 30 nm showed an increased activity compared to the native enzyme.
