A simple and efficient transition-metal-free protocol for the regioselective C-H bond fluorination of 8-aminoquinoline scaffolds with Selectfluor was developed. The reaction has a broad substrate scope and provides facile access to the corresponding C-5 fluorinated quinolines in good yields.
