This works presents a novel hybrid nanocomposite material for glucose, detection for the first time via electrocatalytic glucose oxidation in neutral pH environment. The nanocomposite consisted of copper nanowires (Cu NWs), metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and graphene oxide (GO) was prepared by an easy and convenient functionalization way through direct ultrasound mixing. We evaluated the microstructures of as-prepared materials and verified their electrocatalytic activity, resulted from unique synergistic effect towards glucose oxidation in neutral PBS. Morphology and size of the nanostructures were characterized by SEM and TEM. Good electrochemical performance was observed with cyclic voltammetry and amperometric i-t curve. The sensor showed a wide linear range (20 mu M-26.6 mM) and a low detection limit of 7 mu M (S/N = 3) at applied potential of thorn0.3 V (vs. Ag/AgCl). The selectivity was investigated against lactose, fructose, sucrose, maltose, xylose, and satisfactory anti-interference performance to acetaminophen, ascorbic acid, and uric acid was, tested in concentrations even higher than the normal physiologic levels. The application of the functional material to the analysis of glucose in human serum samples and commercial beverages showed good recoveries, which suggests it a promising choice for non-enzymatic glucose measurement in physiological applications.
