Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) syndrome is an uncommon but potentially life-threatening cutaneous hypersensitivity reaction characterized by extensive mucocutaneous eruption, fever, hematologic abnormalities including eosinophilia and/or atypical lymphocytosis, and extensive organ involvement. Here, we describe a very rare case of DRESS syndrome in a female who had undergone treatment with vancomycin for prosthetic valve endocarditis. According to the RegiSCAR scoring system, our case could be classified as definite DRESS and cure was achieved with timely administration of methylprednisolone and antihistaminics.
