Recent excavations at the archaeological cave of Mora Cavorso, in central Italy (Lazio region), showed a stratigraphy spanning between the Late Pleistocene and the present day. The investigation of this long-term human frequentation has revealed the archaeological importance of the cave in its wider regional context, especially in the Early Neolithic period, when the cave was used intensively as a burial place. Despite the rather marginal location of this cave, a multidisciplinary approach allowed us to identify it as an important crossroads between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian coasts.
