In the present work Cadmium Sulphide nanoparticles (CdS) are synthesized through green route where Tea Decoction is used as natural stabilizer. Cadmium Sulphate and Sodium Sulphide are used as precursors during synthesis process. The as-prepared CdS nanoparticles are characterized by using XRD, UV-Visible Absorption spectroscopy, FTIR and SEM experimental techniques in order to find the crystal structure, bandgap, functional groups and morphology of the material. These studies have confirmed that the as-prepared CdS nanoparticles are of Hexagonal phase with average particle size 9 nm. The band gap of the material determined is 2.65eV. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd.
