The divergent reactivity of (diacyloxyiodo)arenes in the palladium-catalyzed allylic C-H acyloxylation and vinylic arylation reactions of various alkenes has been established. These reactions proceed under simple, mild, and ligand-free conditions to give C-H acyloxylation and vinylic arylation products in moderate to good yields with high regioselectivities. This reaction can employ a broad scope of substrates and has good functional group compatibility. This method will greatly broaden the applications for (diacyloxyiodo)arenes in organic synthesis.
