A pure Magnesium (Mg) bar clad by a drilled Fe coat was successfully processed by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) using a die with a crossing angle of 90 degrees. After annealing, a large number of equiaxed grains appeared in the microstructure, manifesting that static recrystallization took place in the annealing process, and the microstructure was the most homogeneous after annealing at 200 degrees C for 30 min. The (0001), (10-10) and (10-11) textures were softened but their distribution is nearly unchanged. Compressive yield strengths of annealed samples decreased as a result of the grain growth and decline of dislocation density. The comprehensive properties were the best after annealing for 30 min at 200 degrees C, which is attributed to its fine microstructure. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
