Bicyclopyrroles were efficiently converted to the corresponding isoindoles by a retro Diels-Alder reaction in supercritical carbon dioxide. By adding ethylene gas as an oxygen scavenger, the isoindole yield was further improved. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
