Microbial oxidation of harzianone by Bacillus sp IMM-006

Harzianols A-E (2-6) and harziane acid (7), six new oxidized derivatives of harzianone (1), were obtained from the microbial transformation by a bacterial strain Bacillus sp. IMM-006. The structures of these products, including the stereochemistry, were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis. The absolute configuration of 2 was unambiguously determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Moreover, a plausible bioconversion pathway was proposed. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
