UAV technology has been widely used in the field of surveying and mapping, but mostly fixed wing. The equipment is expensive and the operation technology is complicated. Operator needs systematically training. The flight height is high and the ground resolution is limited. In recent years, with the consumption of unmanned aerial vehicles market become hot, a large number of small unmanned aerial vehicles were applied to the construction, power, agriculture and other fields. This paper mainly uses PHANTOM 4 PRO to obtain test area image data. It analyzes the application of the small UAV in the mapping of small area, through two different image mosaics software spliced orthodontic image of the test area.
