In the present work, the green synthesis method was adopted to synthesize electronically charged silver nanoparticles utilizing the leaf extract of Abutilon indicum collected from Similipal Biosphere Reserve, Baripada, India. The synthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were characterized by spectroscopic methods such as UV-Vis, FT-IR spectroscopy, DLS and FE-SEM analysis. The synthesized AgNPs were studied for both antibacterial (Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and antifungal activity (Candida kruseii) and both exhibited potential antimicrobial activity. The key reason of antibacterial behavior of such nanoparticles could be attributed for the charge transfer mechanisms taking place between microorganisms and the nanoparticles. More over AgNPs performed potential antioxidant activity and cytotoxic activity against MCF-7 breast cancer cell line. The synthesized AgNPs is stable, eco-friendly and could provide greater opportunity to use in biomedical sector.
