Analysis of Milkfish Supply Chain in the Philippines: A Case Study in Dagupan, Pangasinan

Milkfish is most common food commodity in the Philippines and supply chain had followed multilevel distribution channel. This study aims to determine the factors that contributed toward pricing and productivity among brokers, producers, wholesalers, retailer and traders in the milkfish industry in Pangasinan province. The study had been collected data through interviews and surveys with persons from associations, transportation, association, service providers and other private stakeholders involved in the supply chain. The study was used analysis of variance and regression analysis and found productivity of output milkfish producers is greatly impacted by three important factors such as feeding schedule, type of food given during farming, volume of eggs/fries in the fish pond and productivity of milkfish for the distributors was influenced by volume of ice in the container, type of water, volume of milkfish and trading hours. Meanwhile, milkfish weight collected from farm was significant for both producers and distributors in term of price factor.
