A simple and direct method for the preparation of beta-phosphoryl enamides has been achieved through Mn(III)-mediated radical oxidative selective phosphorylation of N-styrylamides. The reaction could be efficiently scaled-up and the products could be easily transformed into beta-amino phosphonic acid, a bio-isostere of the corresponding amino acid.
