The Bi2S3-ZnIn2S4 nanocomposites have been prepared through hydrothermal method. The structure, morphology, and composition properties of the as-prepared samples were characterized using X-ray powder diffraction, UV-vis spectrophotometer, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray analysis. Compared with pristine ZnIn2S4 nanosheets, the Bi2S3-ZnIn2S4 nanocomposites displayed higher photocatalytic conversion efficiency of CO2 into methyl formate using methanol as solution of absorbing CO2 and reducing agent. In addition, the methyl formate production rates achieved an optimal value over Bi2S3-ZnIn2S4 (2 wt%). (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
