TiO2-based nanomaterials have been successfully synthesized by the doping and co-doping of TiO2 with transition metals (Cr, Mn, Co and Ni), and (P, Mo) and (Si, W), respectively. The obtained X-ray Diffraction results show that only the anatase phase was detected for nanomaterials synthesized by the doping and co-doping of TiO2 except for TiO2 doped with Co which becomes amorphous. The obtained band gap energies change to below the band gap energy of TiO2 anatase indicating the high ability to absorb visible light. The obtained photocatalytic degradation of Methyl Orange results show that, under visible light, the synthesized nanomaterials are more efficient than the pure TiO2. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd.
