Competition and Cooperation: Dynamical Interplay Diffusion Between Social Topic Multiple Messages in Multiplex Networks

Exploring the dynamics of the diffusion of multiple social networking messages associated with the same topic has become the focus of current research. Given the interaction among multiple messages involved in a diffusion process and the rich intertwined effects, a diffusion model based on multiple messages and multiplex network space is proposed. The proposed model attempts to explore the internal mechanism related to concurrent diffusion of multiple messages relative to social topics. First, aiming at the multidimensional characteristics of the diffusion space, the overlap of social structure, and the complexity of diffusion behavior are mined and mapped to a multiplex diffusion space. Through hierarchical processing, multidimensional message diffusion paths can be constructed, and the diffusion situation of each message can be further perceived. In addition, because, in information diffusion, the infectious rate depends on the time change, the time-dependent variables associated with interaction among multiple messages are introduced. In this manner, the diffusion process of mutual promotion (cooperative relationship) and restraint (competitive relationship) between multiple messages can be revealed. Finally, considering information interaction and diffusion network complexity, a dynamic interaction mechanism based on the multiplex SIS diffusion model is introduced. A unified framework of multiple messages coupled dynamic processes is constructed using a discrete-time microscopic Markov chain approach (MMCA). Experimental results indicate that the framework can reveal the mechanism of multiple message interaction in social topics more realistically.
