The main purpose of this article is to propose an efficient shape optimization technique based on the time-domain dual reciprocity boundary element method (DRBEM) to solve the two-temperature generalized magneto thermoelastic problems. An implicit differentiation method was used to compute the shape design sensitivity of an approximate DRBEM solution with respect to design variables. The feasible direction method was suggested and implemented for use with the golden-section search technique for minimizing the weight objective function while satisfying all constraints. The optimum shape design of a square plate with a hole is used as the numerical example to verify the accuracy of the proposed technique.
