Ceramic coating includes just special chemical compounds that are applied to the surface of glass filters and lens elements in order to change their optical properties usually to reduce reflections and other unwanted effects, as well as repealing water and grease and providing resistance to scratches. This experiment presents a novel approach for the optimisation of input parameters on coated aluminium alloy 2024T351 with multi-response optimisation techniques. These experiments are conducted by varying the input parameters related to surface hardness and surface roughness. In this study, input parameters like coating thickness, substrate temperature and deposition rate are optimised with the considerations of multi-responses such as surface hardness and surface roughness. L-4 orthogonal array was taken to conduct the experiments. The method shows a good convergence with the experimental and the optimum coating parameters where the maximum surface hardness and the minimum surface finish are obtained.
