Position statement of the DDG working group for measurement of HbA1c

Aim of this position statement is to highlight critical aspects of the measurement of HbA1c and to indicate steps towards and improvement in quality and comparability of the measurement of this important parameter. The focus of this statement is on methodological/analytical aspects and not on interpretation and the clinical importance of this parameter.
