In this paper, we report the synthesis, characterization and gas adsorption behavior of nano-ZnO powders. The nano-ZnO powders were synthesized by simple hydrothermal method and characterized in detail by several techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) attached with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). As the gas-sensing relies on the enhancement/reduction in the conductivities of reducing or oxidizing gases, thus, an attempt has been made to relate the conductivity with the absorption behavior of prepared nano-ZnO powder and the reciprocal effects of two gases absorbed on the nano-ZnO were studied. The adsorption results were studied in detail which revealed that the gas absorption belong to the monolayer and there is no interaction between the gases.
