Three new areca alkaloids from the nuts of Areca catechu

Three new areca alkaloids arecatemines A-C (1-3), together with five known ones (4-8), were isolated from the nuts of Areca catechu. The structures of new compounds including absolute configurations were elucidated using comprehensive spectroscopic and electronic circular dichroism (ECD). The known compounds were identified by comparing with data in the literature. [GRAPHICS] .
