A wide frequency absorbing material added CIPs using the fuse deposition modeling

The broadband absorbing property of the absorbing material has been one of the most important properties of the absorbing materials. In this paper, a broadband radar absorbing materials were prepared by the direct fuse deposition modeling. Firstly, the printing line made of CIPs and the hot melt plastic was fabricated using the mechanical melt mixing process. Then the line property was tested using the vibrating sample magnetometer and X-ray diffraction machine, the electromagnetic parameter was measured using the vector network analyzer E8363C in the frequency 2-18 GHz. Later, the high concentration dilution to the low concentration rule are verified by the transmission/reflection coefficient method, in which the unit periodic array structure of the absorber was established to simulate the reflectivity at the CST software platform. Using the genetic algorithm for the multilayer absorbing materials, optimization parameters of each layer with the thickness and the absorbent addition proportion was established. The experimental results show that the absorbing material has excellent absorbing performance in 2-18 GHz, the band width can reach nearly 15 GHz as the RL was below than -8 dB with thickness only 2.8 mm.
