A highly stretchable, transparent ionic conductive cellulose/PVA hydrogel (CPH) was fabricated by a facile and environment-friendly strategy with zero wastage. CPH based sensors exhibited fast and stable sensitivity to temperature, compressive pressure and tensile strain. A CPH based triboelectric nanogenerator for energy harvesting exhibited resistance to temperature change, stretching, long time storage or even a large number of operation cycles.
