Toehold exchange spherical nucleic acids (TESNA) modulated on molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) acanthospheres were proposed for the discrimination of single nucleotide variants (SNVs). We rationally optimized the probe by making a trade-off between the discrimination factor (DF) and hybridization ratio (v). The TESNA platform can distinguish SNVs with significantly improved sensitivity and specificity.
