This paper presents an overview of the issues arising from the translation of Giovanni Boccaccio's Decameron in 15th-century Spain. The two main testimonials preserved, a manuscript and an incunable, are the only known copies of a lost archetype. The state of the art presented in this study explains the textual problems involved. Relevant data and evidence are also provided to advance in the filiation of the testimonials and establish a more reliable stemma.
