The cleroid beetle Acanthocnemoides sukatshevae Zherikhin, 1977 from the upper Albian Taimyr amber was originally assigned to Acanthocnemidae. New observations of the two original fossil specimens preserved in a single amber piece revealed that A. sukatshevae may be affiliated to Melyridae: Dasytinae and lie in close relation to the basal tribe Danaceini. This is the first and oldest record of the subfamily (former family Dasytidae) and an indication of the presence of flowering plants in an ecosystem of the Begichev Formation. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd.
