This study explores the combined effect of heat transfer and chemical reaction on flow through a porous channel, solving the resulting nonlinear ODEs using the Homotopy Analysis Method. The accuracy of the analytic solution is ensured through convergence checking. Influences of parameters on velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles are tested, revealing different effects under convection heating conditions.
The determination of contemporary study is to explore the combine effect of transfer of heat and chemical reaction on the flow through a semi-infinite asymmetric channel having orthogonally expanding or contracting porous wall. The boundary condition corresponds to the existence of convection heating is also considered. The mathematical equations represents the present flow problems are compact to nonlinear ODE's) by introducing appropriate similarity transformations and then solved by using Homotopy Analysis method (HAM). The accuracy of analytic solution is ensured by checking its convergence. To get more efficient results, the graphical representation of table of convergent series solution is obtained. The influences of significant involved parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are tested. The penetration Reynolds numbers is positive for case of injection and negative for suction case. The dimensionless wall contraction (or expansion) rate parameter alpha is taken to be negative for contraction and positive for expansion. The temperature profile drops for contraction combined with suction because of rise in the fluid suction by walls. The temperature distribution upsurge when contraction combined with injection with the raising values of parameter of contraction rate.
