The Two-Track Model of Dementia Grief (TTM-DG): The theoretical and clinical significance of the continuing bond in sickness and in death

Simon Shimshon Rubin et al.

Summary: This article introduces a Two-Track Model of Dementia Grief (TTM-DG) which aims to explore the experience of grief and mourning for family members caring for a dementia patient. The model focuses on the bio-psycho-social functioning of the patient as well as the psychological representation, relational bond, and illness and death narrative. Future clinical and empirical research is needed to further develop and refine this model.
