Insights into the p-nitrophenol adsorption by amidoxime-modified poly(acrylonitrile-co-acrylic acid): characterization, kinetics, isotherm, thermodynamic, regeneration and mechanism study

Adsorptive performance of carbon modified chitosan biopolymer for cationic dye removal: kinetic, isotherm, thermodynamic, and mechanism study

Summary: Chitosan was successfully modified with activated charcoal to create a composite biosorbent for removing thionine dye from water. The optimal conditions for dye removal were determined, and the adsorption process was found to follow pseudo-second-order kinetics and the Freundlich isotherm model. The maximum adsorption capacity was recorded at 303 K. Thermodynamic analysis showed that the adsorption process was endothermic and spontaneous. The adsorption mechanism likely involved electrostatic interactions, hydrogen bonding, and pi-pi interactions.

Separation of manganese from water using hybrid nanocomposite to control water pollution: kinetic and equilibrium modelling

Summary: In this study, a newly synthesised hydroxyapatite-carbon nanotubes based hybrid nanocomposite adsorbent was investigated for its potential application in removing Mn(II) from aqueous solutions to prevent water pollution. Various operating parameters were studied to understand their effects on the manganese uptake. The results showed that the optimal conditions for the highest metal uptake were pH 6.0 and a nanocomposite dose of 2.0 g/L. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were fitted to the experimental data, and the pseudo-second-order model represented the data well. The synthesized material shows promise as an alternative adsorbent for separating manganese from aquatic systems.

Adsorption of anionic dye on eco-friendly synthesised reduced graphene oxide anchored with lanthanum aluminate: Isotherms, kinetics and statistical error analysis

Summary: In this study, eco-friendly reduced graphene oxide/Lanthanum Alluminate nanocomposites and Lanthanum Alluminate were used as adsorbents to efficiently remove dye pollutants from synthetic media. The best fit model for adsorption isotherms and kinetic models were determined using factors like adsorbent dosage, adsorbate concentration, and PH. Experimental data showed a better fit with nonlinear forms of isotherms and kinetic equations, with pseudo-second-order and Freundlich isotherm model satisfactorily fitting the equilibrium data. The maximum adsorption capacity for methyl orange was found to be 469.7 mg g(-1) for LaAlO3 and 702.2 mg g(-1) for RGO-LaAlO3.
