By forming amorphous LiBH4· 1/2NH(3) in situ on the surface of Al2O3 via strong interfacial interaction through B-O bonds, the ionic conductivity has been improved significantly. The electrochemical window of the composite material is expanded to 3.6 V.
A novel LiBH4 center dot 1/2NH(3)-Al2O3 composite was demonstrated, in which amorphous LiBH4 center dot 1/2NH(3) was in situ formed on the surface of Al2O3 owing to the strong interfacial interaction via B-O bonds. The ionic conductivity of LiBH4 center dot 1/2NH(3) is improved by one order of magnitude to 10(-3) S cm(-1) and the electrochemical window up to 3.6 V.
